How to Apply

Graduates studies in medical physics is offered through the Carleton University Physics Department at both the Master's and Doctorate levels.

Our PhD program was the first and currently is one of only two graduate medical physics program in Ontario which is accredited by CAMPEP, the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs. 

Step 1: Explore the wide range of research interests of OMPI members.

Please explore the research interests of current OMPI members by viewing "Research".  An opportunity to meet with members will be arranged once your application has been submitted.

Step 2: Determine your eligibility

For admission to the master's program:

  • Honours BSc in Physics or Applied Physics or a BASc (or BSc) in Engineering Physics/Engineering Science,
  • Minimum GPA B+ (77-79%) in honours subject, B- (70-72%) overall,
  • Proficiency in English.

For admission to the Ph.D. program:

  • Master's degree in medical physics is optimum, an MSc in another area of Physics is sometimes sufficient,
  • Minimum GPA  B+ (77-79%), no grade below B- (70-72%),
  • Proficiency in English.
