For our immediate needs we need a Physics Labs Assistant Technician for a 4 month full time term contract (January 1st to April 30th) to help with set-up of experiments and provide technical assistance in our first year service courses lab delivery.


 The person will be working under the supervision of the Lab Technician and should have the following skills:


Organized and punctual,


Good communication skills


Very hands-on approach


Great problem solving abilities, trouble shooting equipment issues and electrical circuitry


Being able to explain basic physics experiments to students


Knowledgeable of first year physics concepts and experiments


The Physics Labs Assistant Technician responsibilities will include setting-up and testing experiments using computer interfaces; cataloguing equipment; assisting with experiment explanations to students and TAs; providing technical and computer assistance to students and TAs.


A minimum of 2 to 3 years of related experience in teaching laboratories is preferred, but equivalences will be considered. Familiarity with Vernier software and devices will be considered an asset.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in physics is preferred, but equivalences will be considered.
