Research Associate position on LCTPC

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

Applications are invited for one postdoctoral research associate position with the LCTPC experimental particle physics group at Carleton University. The group is actively investigating new opportunities for the International Linear Collider (ILC) and for the development of a high resolution Time Projection Chamber (TPC). The Carleton LCTPC group currently consists of two faculty members: Alain Bellerive and Madhu Dixit.

Currently, the Carleton group is participating in the design of a TPC with Micro Pattern Gas Detector (MPGD). We are also active in the optimization of the International Large Detector (ILD) detector.

We are interested in candidates who hold a Ph.D. degree in experimental particle physics and wish to take a leading role in our research program. The candidate would also be expected to help with the supervision of our students. The position will be based at Carleton University, with occasional travel.

The initial appointment will be for 1 year, with possible extension. Some travel will be expected. Candidates should send a curriculum vitae, a statement of their research interests, and arrange for letters from three referees to be sent to:
