Teaching Assistant Opportunities for Winter 2014 - CLOSED

Applications are invited for Teaching Assistants in the Department of Physics and/or BIT Courses for the 2014 Winter term.

 Required Qualifications

 (1) Academic Standing:

Successful candidates will possess, at minimum, the following educational attainments:

 ·         A BSc degree in Physics or Engineering Physics; or

 ·         Three years in an undergraduate program in Physics or Engineering Physics; or

 ·         In exceptional circumstances, undergraduate students currently enrolled in their third year of a Physics or Engineering Physics program may also be considered; or

 ·         Students who are currently enrolled in their fourth year of an Engineering program with a GPA of 10 or above may also be considered.

 (2) Ability to Perform the Duties of the Position

 Successful candidates will be required to demonstrate the core competences required for the relevant TA duties.  Such duties may include, but are not limited to, marking assignments, lab reports and tutorial tests; and assisting students with experiments in Carleton’s undergraduate laboratories and in tutorial sessions.

 (3) Candidate Competence and Experience

 Successful candidates will be competent in both the theoretical and practical knowledge relevant to the TA position to which they’re applying.  Priority will be given to candidates who have previously worked as a TA in the Physics Department at Carleton University. 

 Qualified applicants who are full-time Carleton students will be given preference over non-student applicants.
